Vancouver Hike Idea #1: Deep Cove's Quarry Rock via Baden Powell trail

Looking to lace up and escape the city buzz for a bit? Allow me to introduce (or re-introduce because it's pretty popular) Deep Cove's Quarry Rock hiking trail... One my favourite hikes and lookout points in the Vancouver area. I like a hike with a view and this trail leads you to a pretty good one. 

The Basics

Located in the charming enclave of Deep Cove, Quarry Rock Trail is a local favorite and for good reason. It's a moderate 3.8-kilometer loop that offers a perfect blend of lush forests, scenic viewpoints, and a rewarding summit – Quarry Rock itself.

Getting There

Getting to the trailhead is a breeze. Just hop on the bus or, if you're feeling extra adventurous, drive up to Panorama Drive in North Vancouver. Once you've arrived, you'll spot the trailhead near the popular Honey's Doughnuts – a pre-hike treat, anyone? Or post? 

The Hike

As you start your ascent, you'll be greeted by towering trees that create a natural canopy, making you forget you're just a stone's throw away from the city. The trail is well-marked, with occasional wooden steps to keep things interesting. It's a steady climb, but the promise of breathtaking views keeps you fueled.

The Views

The views! When you reach Quarry Rock, you're in for a treat. The sight of Deep Cove's waters and the surrounding mountains is nothing short of mesmerizing. It's the perfect spot to catch your breath, take some pictures, and enjoy a well-deserved snack (might I suggest again Honey's Doughnuts).
